CLR stands for Common Language Runtime. This is the .NET Framework run-time environment. CLR is an execution engine of the .NET Framework. All .NET programs execute under the oversight of the CLR, guaranteeing certain properties and behaviors in the areas of memory management, security, and exception handling.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't know that all .NET programs execute under the oversight of the CLR, guaranteeing certain properties and behaviors in the areas of memory management, security, and exception handling.
